Parks, Gordon
(n. 30 nov. 1912, Fort Scott, Kan., EE.UU.).

Escritor, fotógrafo y director de cine estadounidense. Parks trabajó como fotógrafo de planta para la revista Life (1948–72), donde se dio a conocer por sus retratos de la vida en el ghetto, los nacionalistas negros y el movimiento por los derechos civiles. Su primera novela fue El árbol del saber (1963), obra que trata de un adolescente afroamericano en Kansas en la década de 1920. Combinó poesía y fotografía en libros como A Poet and His Camera [Un poeta y su cámara] (1968) y Glimpses Toward Infinity [Atisbos hacia el infinito] (1996). También dirigió diversas películas, entre las que se destaca Las noches rojas de Harlem (1971).
